Bruce Munro: From Sunrise Road, released to accompany an exhibition of the same title at Heide Museum of Modern Art, showcases the work of internationally renowned British-Australian artist Bruce Munro, who uses light as his essential medium. Widely known for his expansive Field of Light at Uluru in Central Australia, Munro creates spectacular interactive installations along with more intimate story pieces. Many of his works are inspired by the time he has spent in Australia since the 1980s and celebrate the beauty of the natural world, the complexity of the human condition, and the mysteries of the cosmos.

This richly illustrated 128 page hardcover publication reveals the depth of Munro’s practice and breadth of his sources, from the personal and philosophical to the literary and spiritual. It features stunning installation images of Munro’s exhibition at Heide, a fascinating Q & A with the artist about his life and creative journey by Bryony Cosgrove, individual artwork texts by Head Curator Kendrah Morgan, and an essay on Munro’s magical outdoor site specific work at Heide by Senior Curator Melissa Keys.
